What is recruitment?
Recruitment is a two-week series of events during which our chapter is able to meet, engage with, and recruit potential members. This is also a time for potential members to learn more about what Delta Sigma Pi has to offer and get to know all the active brothers. We recruit twice per year. For the 2023/2024 school year, our two cycles will occur at the beginning of Fall and Winter quarter, respectively.

What are you looking for in potential members?
We get asked a lot if we specifically seek out students who are in certain RSOs, or who have professional experience or pre-existing business acumen. The answer- very plainly- is no. DSP is looking to accept engaged, genuine, interesting people who we think will both benefit from membership and add value to our organization. Our best applicants- experienced or inexperienced- are those who show up with a clear understanding of our chapter and why they want to join, who answer questions clearly and earnestly, and who present themselves honestly as the unique person that they are.

What if I am a member of another Greek organization?
You can be a member of both a social fraternity/sorority and a professional fraternity. However, you cannot be both a member of Delta Sigma Pi as well as another business organization under the Professional Fraternity Council.

Do I have to know someone in DSP to be admitted?
No. Our recruitment and admission process is structured such that there is no real advantage to knowing current members in the fraternity, and similarly, no disadvantage to knowing no one. We recognize that there are many people outside of the social circles of our current members who would make fantastic fraternity members, and we have carefully constructed our recruitment process in order to create an equal playing field for all applicants.

Are all of the recruitment events mandatory?
Though it is highly encouraged for you to attend one information session, none of our recruiting events are mandatory. Especially when students have a lot going on in their first few weeks of the school year, we are aware that DSP is not the only thing on your plate. In general, we strongly recommend attending recruitment events to gain a better understanding of who we are, what we do, and why you might want to join, in addition to helping us get to know you better.

If I don't get a bid, can I recruit again?
Yes! Our recruitment process is highly competitive, and many current members applied in multiple cycles before being admitted. If you participate in recruitment and do not receive a bid, we strongly encourage you to apply again in a future cycle.
